with ScoutLink Global Youth

JOTI is the World Organisation of the Scout Movement Annual Internet event that takes place on the 3rd Weekend of October every year. This means that for JOTI 2008 the event will take place on 17th, 18th and 19th of October.

If you have never taken part in JOTI before...

...then JOTI is BIG. At the peak of JOTI 2007 there were 6582 different people on ScoutLink IRC allown (IRC is just one side of ScoutLink). Whilst, at the peak of JOTI there were 6582 people on ScoutLink IRC, many more people would of taken part in JOTI across the weekend so the true total of people that took part in JOTI will be much, much larger.

JOTI lasts for 50 hours and starts at 10pm local time (the time where you are) on the Friday of the JOTI weekend. The start of JOTI is staggered so that ScoutLink slowly gets busier as JOTI starts in different countries.

JOTI 2008

During JOTI 2007 ScoutLink Global Youth (that's the channels with names that start #youth) tried several new ideas that worked really well. For 2008 we are trying to improve even more and we will welcome your thoughts on out ideas.

> ScoutLink Global Youth has already decided what we want to do and we are currently working really hard to put everything in place. We WILL be announcing everything before JOTI - hopefully around August to give you time to prepare....so stay tuned.
