#youth-games update Print E-mail
Sunday, 13 January 2008

hi everyone,

A while ago we asked what you though, and began work, on moving to a two channel #youth system.

#youth - for talking
#youth-games - for games

Additionally, we began work on moving to a system with Mainframe performing most of the op work in #youth and an aditional bot with the games on. This was due to Mainframe lagging when he tried to do games and op work.

To go with the new bot we ran a competiton to let you pick the name of the bot. (more on this later)

The Global ScoutLink Council agreed to give us the #youth-games channel, how ever they proposed insted of #youth and #youth-games that we move to a different system:

#youth-uno - for the UNO game, with a bot for UNO!
#youth-kaos - for the KAOS game, with a bot for KAOS
#youth - for talking and the other games not covered by UNO and KAOS.

Sadly, their hasn't been a #youth-team meeting to descuss this for a while, which is why it looks like their has been no progress for a while.

At the #youth-team meeting today we decided to go with the council's surgestion. We also decided that, from the name the bot competition, we would declare two winners insted of one.

We therefore had a look at all the names that had been surgested to us and picked "Zimmerframe" for UNO! and "Murphy" for KAOS.

The person who surgested "Zimmerframe" asked to remain annoymous. So well done to them.

The person who surgested "Murphy" didn't put their nick on the email. So if it was you please contact us ASAP.

We hoep you like the extra #youth channels. We hope you also enjoy the greatly changed #youth system. With the new website, bebo, facebook, MySpace, Award Scheme, forum etc.

Oh and a big hello!!!!! to the new regulars that are appearing on ScoutLink. The more people we get into #youth the more fun we can have and the more new ideas we will have. (Mabey everyone could try and get the Bring a freind award? Tongue out)
