TEAM MEETING SATURDAY 30th JUNE 2007

6. Discussion topics:
6.1 What is the Events Team
The role of the #youth events team is to work with the #youth-team and the #youth-promo team to organize some fun and exciting events in #youth. That are announced in advanced and at times promoted by the promo team. This is to ensure that #youth stays fun for both new and returning visitors as well as members of #youth teams.

6.2 What limitations have been set by the Youth Team?
• Members of the Youth Events Team will not be ChanOps unless they are appointed so by the Youth team as a separate appointment.
• The youth events team would have a team leader who can choose who is on the team, providing it is Oked by the youth coordinator.
• The youth events team need to present there proposals to the youth team at a team meeting before they can go ahead.
• The youth events team will need to get Youth ChanOps to be present at events incase something happens.
• Youth Events team members:
    o Can not attend #youth-team meetings unless 
         they are invited
         We are discussing the events team at the meeting.
    o Can not use the #youth-team channel unless
         They are invited in
         They book the channel in advance.
• As you know, every three years, the role of youth coordinator comes up for reelection. After the youth coordinator has be elected then your roles will be review by the youth coordinator. so it is possible that after 3 years you might be replaced

 Targets
• 10 Events per year
• 12 competitions per year
• This excludes the #youths which are held twice a year.
• Wont say no to more

 Exciting news
Michael Baden-Powell the grandson of Robert Baden-Powell is enthusiastic about #youth. He has agreed to be interviewed by #youth regulars. Questions to be sent via e-mail. Hold a competition after Joti?
 Events & competition ideas.
Other ScoutLink channels organize fun events for example #dutch with S/ASH it was suggested that to look at what the rest of ScoutLink does for ideas. Any ideas and events we come up with need to be doable not just talked about. Ideas and discussion via e-mail in the next month, some ideas that were brought up during the meeting are below.

For events that we will use new games for we need to give the Tech team a few months to design the game, need to give them a outline of what the game does and how it will run so they can make it for us. Outlines for game can go to Peter to be passed on the Zleppy and the Tech team.

Team members were told they can look at past council minutes for ideas as well some examples given being Global SL council meeting April 5 2003 and #youth report – March 2003, #youth report December 2002 - Christmas ideas. Peter volunteered to look through the minutes for us.

 #youths
Peter asked the events team to come up with a date and time for the #youths to be held. Peter is organising a location in a top secret spot. Certificates will be given to winners.

 #youth Promo-team
Someone has offered to be the #youth-promo team leader, Peter is hoping to get that up and running soon.

7. General Business
Taswegian – James pointed out that he does not no where his life is headed in the coming months as he has recently applied for a traineeship. And he does not no how this will affect him on SL yet but he is going to give it his all for now and keep team members informed of what is happening.
