isotopes are different forms of the same element. The nuclei has the same number of protons (atomic number) but it has a different number of nutrons. This results in a different atomic mass.

the mass number gives the total number of nucleons (number of protons plus nutrons).

So Ni-60 has two more nutrons than Ni-58.

or at lest - that is my understanding. let me know if im wrong

well, when it is done properley there are enough nails so that you persons weight is spread accross all of them and the weight of the person on one nail does not cause pain.

note: do not try and see how many nails you need at home. we dont want too many acidents as a result of internet chat
